Nagios and IPv6?

I imagine this is an easy question and the answer is yes, but a search didn't produce definitive results, nor did looking at docs or the faq... The implied answer was yes.
Can I use an IPv6 address in the address field of a host?

Yes you most certainly can.
As long as the XI server has an IPv6 address itself and has valid routes to access these addresses if it's not in the same subnet it will work fine.

Then they won't be able to communicate, are you able to add an IPv6 to the machine to use as well?
Do you have IPv6 routes in place on your network? I know Hurricane Electric offers a "broker", but I am not speaking from experience. See this link for a bit more information,

Yes, an IPv6 address can be added. This is a theoretical question for now.
Thanks for the replies, this can be closed.

Sounds good - if you run into issues getting the actual checks working feel free to create a new one.
