I am running Nagiosx 5.2.3 from a Oracle Virtualbox vm with CentOS. I do "show active hosts checks" and "active services checks" as well as "notifications" are disabled. From the Admin tab I have tried to start the Monitoring Process Engine, even though it shows that the command was completed successfully the Monitoring Engine is still showing red and not running. Can someone help me with this? It looks like a very simple issue. Thanks

Go to Configure -> Core Config Manager -> Write Config Tool
Click the verification buttons from top to bottom.

If you have any errors, you can fix the problem in the core config manager. If in a any doubt, post the errors here for review.

Once you fix the reported error, repeat above steps with the top 3 buttons until you have 0 errors, then go to the console and run:
