Hi,

I have a little problem with my nrpe checks from my Nagios server to remote hosts... they did work but no longer do and I have no idea what I've done to stop it working.

To confirm - I have the same problem to all remote hosts (mixture of Linux and Windows) using nrpe.
If I try a "/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H localhost" on each host then it correctly returns a value ("NRPE v2.15").

However, if I try the same from the Nagios server - "/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H <ip>" then it returns blank (literally nothing, no error either).

As its happening to all remote hosts I'm pretty sure it must be something wrong on my Nagios server... but as I'm getting no output (error) I have no idea where to look. As I say - they did once work but not sure what I've done to break it!

Sorry... as soon as I posted this I found out why.

For some reason my check_nrpe was 0 bytes on the Nagios server.
I've replaced the file with a proper check_nrpe file and it now works.

No idea why that happened!!

That's petty strange! Would you like us to close this since you got it working?
