Hello,

I'm evaluating Nagios Xi since 2 days. As I saw on your website video tutorial,
I'm using your DEMO VMware Virtual Machine 2011R1.7 August 31, 2011 on my vsphere client 4.1.
The VM was imported correctly in my datastorage and seems to work correctly.

When I try to monitor Windows 2008R2 server with the Monitoring Wizard, everything is fine.

after NSCLIENT 64bits msi install

I have some error on nagios interface

I put a private video on youtbe to show my problem => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U6zRMjeAFs

Code: Select all

Host Service Status Duration Attempt Last Check Status Information
server test CPU Usage Critical 22m 2s 5/5 2011-10-07 16:39:19 CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 10 seconds

I don't understand why the NSClient have those logs

If someone have a solution ? thanks a lot ;)

I seems like it could be a "privileges" issue. I found this thread on the NSClient++ support forum:

http://www.nsclient.org/nscp/discussion/message/783#783

It's an old thread and I'm not sure if it's going to give you a hint but it's worth checking it out.

Thanks for your Answer lmiltchev,

I had read this post but I don't find the good way to make it working.

I'm using SNMP protocol to check some process that I Would like to control.

As the problem is not resolved, I 'm really sad because I'm not able to find a real working tutorial that makes me working Nagios XI on Windows 2008 R2 server.

I would like to buy annual support for this product because every body told me that NagiosXI is wonderfull et powerfull tools.

Is there a person from the Nagios development Team who know how to configure the NSCLIENT++ 64bit.MSI on Windows 2008R2. I also check the forum of NSCLIENT but without success.

:(

I'm not sure if NSClient adds an exception to the firewall, check your firewall and see if there is an exception for port 12489.
