How Do You Monitor Your UPS?

Hello,

I am interested in finding out how people monitor their UPSes. I have tried a couple of plugins and have had mixed results.

We have a large number of APC Smart UPS models 750 and 2200. Most of those have an external temperature sensor plugged into its network card as well as a door contact (to alert you if the closet door contact was tripped). It would be nice to click on a UPS and see its load, battery level, as well as the temperature and humidity values from the sensor.

I am currently using a plugin called "APC check_apc_ups", which works well but has the following shortcomings:
-It does not give you performance/historical data.
-It does not provide temp/humidity sensor data.

Wondering what you guys are using in your environment?

Thanks,

There are a few other plugins on our exchange, that do output with performance data (https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/P ... re/UPS/APC). Would any of these work for your needs?

As for the censors - are you able to run a SNMP walk against the device and find an OID that has the temp / humidity information?

Hello,

I'm looking for the same script to monitor our APC UPS with external temp probe.
Is there anyone how has this working in nagios ?

Kind regards,

Can you provide a bit more detail? This can probably be done over SNMP, but without model numbers it would be hard to find a plugin specifically for your device.
