Is it possible to setup an alert on shared drive servers, if any client has too many smb connections, above read/write threshold? The question we’re trying to answer is how can we tell if some user has too many reads/writes on the file share, or has too many files open on that share? What is that user? and What files have been modified/created in the last hour?

There are a number of plugins available at the exchange site for SMB related checks, have you seen some of these?
