Nagios E-Mail Settings are not working

Good morning !

I've installed my Nagios Log Server and everything was fine.
But when I try to check my E-Mail Settings I don't receive an E-Mail. I've tested if Nagios maybe sends Alert Notification, but this does not work too.

What can I do?

If you go to Administration > General > Mail Settings are you able to send a test email? Are you using SMTP or PHP mail?

Hello hsmith,

I am using SMTP, and I don't even receive the test mail nor the alert mails :(
Is there any config file of the log Server that I have to edit?

I've tried to ping our smtp Server and this works.
I've tested Telnet and this works too. :/ :?:

The File below Shows our Configuration. I have tested it with and without the smtp username, but both Options do not work.

Or do we Need to apply the IP-adress of our Nagios Server into the first field of the email adress?

Is the SMTP Security set to None correct?

In addition to the security setting, are you sure that you're using port 25 for SMTP traffic? More typically that traffic will arrive on port 587 using some form of encryption.

Hey

I got this Information from our "Exchange guy" so I think so :/ I will ask him later when he arrived at the Office, maybe there is another possibilty. But normaly we do not fill These fields :/

To add to what @jolson mentioned -- talk to your exchange guy, and from the NLS server please run nmap 100.0.10.124. (if this is the correct IP, are you sure it's not 10.0.10.124?)

This is why it takes eight eyes to check this stuff. I'm willing to bet that's it. :)
