Acknowledge Emails Using email

Hi,

We use XI 5.2.2.

In our email alert notifications, coming from Nagios, we embed the URL link for users inside our network to acknowledge the alert. We restrict users acknowledging outside our corporate network for security purposes.

Have other clients asked if there is a way to reply back to the Nagios email (with an email) that essentially acknowledges the alert. I'm assuming at the backend an external command would be used.

Thanks

At this time, it is not possible. I haven't heard of a request like this before either.

I believe adding in a feature like this would be very difficult, as Nagios would essentially have to 'monitor' the mailbox for incoming emails. Even then, they would have to 'contain' specific text in the body which could easily be thrown off. I could still feature request it, if you'd like, but just giving my input here.

Do you have any alternative ideas that would work as well with your environment?

There are a couple solutions on the web:

and

I will look at these. Thanks for taking the time to reply :D
