Can anyone tell me what 'obsessing' actually does in Nagios ?

Every bit of info I can find just states "causes Nagios to 'obsess' over host/service" but I cant find anything on what it actually does or why I would want it turned on or off..

It's related to this: http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/ ... hp_command beyond that I can't tell you much more about it... I've never used it personally.
