SNMP walk Wizard not using all the MIB files

Posted: Wed Jun 15, 2016 5:26 am

Hi,

when running a SNMP walk using the SNMP Wizard it does not appear to be using all the MIB's located in /usr/share/snmp/mibs

When running the SNMP walk i have removed the top level OID, increased the timeout to 30, increased the Max results and set Force Scan Yes.

I am new to Nagios so i am still learning the process's :D - do i need to run something to enable the wizard to use all the MIB's installed ?

Many thanks

What are the permission on your mibs that you've added?

Code: Select all

ls -l /usr/share/snmp/mibs
Can you run the snmpwalk command manually and see if you see any MIB errors?

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -v 2c -c SNMPCOMMUNITY X.X.X.X

Create the file /etc/snmp/snmp.conf, and put into it:

Code: Select all

mibs +ALL
This tells the snmp commands that they should load ALL of the mib files when they are ran.
Try that and see if this resolves it for you.

Can you login to the XI server as root and run this snmpwalk command and post the outout?
Replace COMMUNITY with the SNMP Community name you have setup in the remote device and replace x.x.x.x with the IP address of the remote device.

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -v 2c -c COMMUNITY X.X.X.X

Could you post the Upsmate.mib file so we can view it?

It does look like you are missing the RFC-1212 mib file from your system and that could be causing the issue.
I found that MIB file and it includes the RFC-1212 mib file and I didn't see it on your system.
Try installing that and see if that fixes the issue.
