Hi team,

I have setup Nagios xi on a CentOS VM using the below link from your website.

https://www.nagios.com/downloads/nagios ... sxi-ova-64

The issue is that when the VM powers on, i am unable to find the Nagios URL (the URL is diplayed as http://) as you can see from the screenshot attached below. I also tried setting up a static IP as you suggested, but nevertheless, i could not access the web portal.

Kindly advise what needs to be done. Please treat this on an urgent basis.

Thanks

What network adapter is your virtual machine currently using through VMware player? It looks like you had an IP at one point, but nothing is indicated in your ifconfig.

Can you also post your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file for us to look at?

Hi rkennedy,

I have also tried assigning a static ip to the VM as suggested in one other post. I will post both the ifcfg-eth0 files for you (with and without static ip config). You could see the Nagios URL being displayed in the banner in one of them (one assigned with static ip). However, i am still unable to access the web url using that ip.

Please advise.

Thanks,

After you set the static IP, did you restart your networking service or reboot the machine to make sure it's intact?

Can you show us which network adapter your virtual machine settings are currently set to under vmware player? It could be a network adapter that does not hear from your DHCP server, where as before it was.

Hi rkennedy,

Yes, i had restarted the network on the VM. Please find below the network adapter settings of the VMPlayer i am using. I don't remember maky any changes to this.
Please let me know if it should be something else.

Also let me know if you need something else.

Thanks.

Also, I tried loading the VM using a different VM application, VM Virtual Box. Even in this application i have this issue. This lloks like a VM image issue.

Thanks.

Does your network allow you to bridge the adapters or do they only allow certain MAC access?

Just to make sure - is one of those 4 interfaces your wireless NIC? It may be worth selecting which one specifically you're looking to bridge, and then rebooting the machine. You could be passing on a private network, which then in turn isn't getting any DHCP offers.
