Hi, dear alll,

i am now testing the Nagios Log Server. I just read this article: "Nagios Log Server - Technical Overview and Terminology Definitioins" ( https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... itions.pdf ) and found the following attractive applications:

errors, but to determine what are the most requested pages, what is the geo-location of their visitors, popular browsers and
more.

With a small script, users could archive Nagios Check Results including performance data, and have the ability to setup
custom dashboards visualizing the data however they wish (table, bar graph, pie chart, etc..)

Does somebody have such tutorial or other information to show me roughly how to implement the application above?

In addition, we have not only one single log files. we have usually serveral log files each day: such as gisserver_01.log, gisserver_02.log bis gisserver_05.log. How can i realize the application above in this senario?

To do this, navigate to the Dashboards page. Then, hover over the blue lines next to your current panels, and you'll see 'Add Panel'. This is where you'll have the option to display different panels based on the data you have inputted to NLS.

This isn't an issue, when you input your log files for forwarding in either nxlog or syslog make sure to use a wildcard in the file name to catch them all. Are these .log files on windows or linux?

Now my other focus is :

Maybe it is better that we discuss a concreate example. For example , i have serveral Apache access*.log files. How can i set the filters and other things so that i can get the most requested pages:
for example:

• index page: 100 requests
  pdf download: 50 requests
  search page: 40 requests
  other pages: 100 requests
  totoal requests: 290 requests

it is also nice to show such information in a dashboard in graphic. I need really some tutrials or examples.

What a quickstart is is a one hour session with one of our technicians where we hopefully get you up and running, and show you how the product works. You only get one session, but it would be a good way to get on a remote/call with one of us and troubleshoot the issues you're having.
