Feature Request - disable host without deleting services

I love experimenting. I especially love experimenting if I can just disable a host to take it out of the mix and not have to worry about any services explicitly assigned to that host. So call this a feature request: If I disable a host in CCM in XI, it may be temporary. I shouldn't have to delete it from any service host assignments as well. I may be putting it right back after I finish experimenting.

Ideally, the parser would, in general, stop complaining about hosts with no services or services with no hosts, because it may be transitory or during a development stage. I get tired of having to remember what services were attached to a host, make the host inactive, do the testing, make the host active, add it back to the services, and go back to normal. Plus, if I only had that one host assigned to a service, now I also have to make that service inactive or else XI complains.

LET ME TEST IN PEACE!!! :-)

Me too...
I try to put hosts in hostgroups to get around this, but it seems odd to put a single host in a hostgroup.

Yes, I know there are workarounds, but I'd think "not active" would be enough to have XI just ignore it,

I agree this would be nice to have, at least being able to do so temporarily.
I filed a feature request for this - TASK ID 8977
