frequency between passive checks

Hello, I have a question regarding the frequency of each result of passive checks.

I will try to explain clearly.

We have servers in Cloud sending passive check my server Nagios every 5 minutes, checks, results and notifications are fine, my problem is when the last state was an "up" and there was a network outage before the next check.
When this happens there is no data update last status check, the last check was an "up", but may have spent 15 minutes or longer without having received a status update and no problems were detected.

In what can be interpreted as a failure when it has exceeded the regular frequency of passive checks?

Thanks

Sounds like you should configure freshness checks for these services / hosts. Nagios has the ability to keep an eye on passive check results for a given service, and
actively perform a check if Nagios hasn't heard from the passively monitored host for a specified amount of time. Refer to page 4 of the following doc and definitely let us know if you have additional questions.
