Importing existing cfg files via NagiosQL

Hi there --

I have completed the installation of NagiosQL 3.1.1 onto a Nagios 3.3.1 Core running on an Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32-bit system. The Core application, along with the plugins and nrpe add-ons, has been installed in the /usr/local/nagios directory. I am in the process of having this system replace an existing Nagios 3.1.2 server. The existing server has the requisite set of .cfg files that I would like to import into the new server.

The NagiosQL application has an Import utility, but it appears to be looking in the /etc directory for the various Nagios configuration files. The files in question have been saved in the /root/nagios_configuration folder, and I would like the Import utility to be able to retrieve the files from that location. I did not see a way within the utility to point it to the desired location.

What step(s) do I need to take in order to be able to import the existing configuration files via the Import utility?

Thanks.

Is it not an option to copy the config files to the location that NagiosQL wants them and import from there? From memory QL should be looking in the /usr/local/nagios/etc/ directory. You may find it easier to get an answer on the NagiosQL forums http://www.nagiosql.org/forum.html there's probably more people there who know more about it :)

Hi there --

Thanks for your reply. My thoughts are in sync with yours concerning the location of the configuration files. Initially I tried to register on the NagiosQL website,
however I have been unable to do so because of a timing out issue during the registration process that has occurred on any system, at any location, with any browser that I have used in the attempt. This has resulted in my coming to this forum for help.
