NNA - Unique Ports Required or Recommended?

Hi. This thread "Why multiple sources?" (
https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... urce+ports) states that using multiple ports is not required. When I attempt to use the same port, NNA insists upon a unique port number.
Please explain.
Thanks!
Alan

The wording is a little confusing.
What you would do is create one source on the NNA server and when you configure the devices to send the Flow data to the NNA server, you use the same port in the devices configuration to send to the same port on the NNA server.
So, you can have multiple devices sending Flow data using the same port to the NNA server.
This will aggregate the multiple devices data in to one source on the NNA server for reporting, quering, views, etc...
If you need to segregate the data for each device sending Flow data, you have to create a unique port for each device and also a unique source on the NNA server.
This will keep the data separate.
Does this help out?

Yes. Your reply is extremely helpful. You have clarified the "source" concept. Multiple devices can send to the same source port.
Thanks!

Is it alright if we lock this thread and mark the issue as resolved?
