Nagios restart command failed

Hi Support team,
Whenever I want to add a new node in Nagios I get an error message. I've attached screenshot regarding this problem.I should go to CCM and click 'Apply Configuration' to make it right.
How can I overcome this problem and make it normal?

What is the Nagios XI version that you are currently using? Do you see any error when verifying configuration via the Write Config tool?

CCM->Tools->Write Config Files->Write->Verify

Run the following commands and post the output:

Post the "/etc/sudoers" file.

Nagios Version: 5.2.9
I see no error when I do write in CCM everything is OK except some warnings.

Try adding the following line to sudoers (in red):
#includedir /etc/sudoers.d
Defaults:nagios !requiretty
User_Alias NAGIOSXI=nagios
If apply configuration still fails, start a running tail on the cmdsubsys.log:

tail -f /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/cmdsubsys.log
then go the the web UI and apply configuration. Wait until apply configuration fails, stop the tail (ctrl + c), and display the output of the tail.

My understanding of all this information iS when I apply configuration Nagios can not restart it's service at first attempt and showing some error regarding to older issues which they are not existing yet.
After Second attempt Nagios will be started properly.Even after first attempt I can see that Nagios is inactive and then after restart it will be active.

So if you apply twice it work or does it require manual intervention?

Is this server LDAP/AD connected so that you use your LDAP/AD credentials to SSH into the server?

If so, edit this file:

/etc/nsswitch.conf
Change/add/set this:

Code: Select all

sudoers: files ldap
Then try it again and let us know the results.
