About historical performance graphs

hello, i am a new Nagios user, i have problem accessing past performance data through performance graphs
background:
About few weeks ago, we configured the Nagios XI server and agent, and started some of the host/service monitoring. Recently, we rename the host/service for better management purpose and add some new services to be monitored. After that we find the performance graph becomes (custom past date range) blank data.
We used Performance Data Tool (by Box293) to search and found there are other rrd file but the data is not those we see in the graph before.
Is there anyone can help to solve / find out the problem how to get back the historical monitoring data? Many thanks.
Remarks:
Nagios XI update from 5.2.6 > 5.2.9

The performance data tool should allow you to merge the data from the old file into the new file and the graphs will appear.
How did you do the rename?

Thanks for your reply. We rename the host / service name through [Core Configure Manager] > [Host]/[Services] > click Edit and then change the hostname (e.g. PROD1 to 01-PROD, service "CPU stats" to "Check CPU") > then we click Apply configuration > success
After that we found the data is lost (we can only see the monitoring data since after the update), did we do anything wrong?

In the Core Config Manager, there is a Renaming Tool, if you use that to rename the hosts or services, it will also update the settings for the performance data so it will not be lost.
You can try and put the names back, then use the renaming tool to carry over the historical performance data.
There will be a gap in the data but you could use the tool to merge the data in during the time it was renamed.

Thanks, so how do we use the renaming tool? since we change both host and service name in [Edit] mode. Should be rename both back? But we are not sure some of the name is used before (sadly) ?
Any alternative way to merge the new and past record safely? Appreciated your advise.

The tool @Box293 mentioned earlier should be able to merge the RRD files together.
