Hello Experts,

We need to monitor ping latency, availability and packet loss monitoring in Nagios XI. Can someone help me with the procedure on how can I achieve this effectively. I need all different services defined.
For latency, there is requirement of large packet latency and small packet latency.
Is there a possibility to pull a report from the date like from 0 to 150ms there is these many device. and then from 150=500ms there are these many devices.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

A simple ping check will measure the round-trip time and packet loss between the Nagios machine and a remote server. Availability is basically a measure of how many of the pings historically have succeeded or failed.

There is not an easy way to determine what a "large" packet is vs a "small" packet since that can vary between organizations.

And as for the reporting based on various packet delays, that does not currently exist but I could put in a feature request for it if you would like.

Is it possible to record a ping latency at a particular time everyday. Suppose midnight at 12.00 I want to record a ping latency and get a monthly report in excel in a column that for this day this much latency was recorded.

Please let me know how to do this with Nagios XI or if we need to customise the report for this. please help me with this..

There is an option in the Enterprise Edition features for scheduled reporting, but if you need it in a very specific format that would need to be custom development. However if you are only doing one check per day then you are missing out on a ton of data and you probably are not getting an accurate picture of the network response times. It is better to do it every minute or every 5, then get a report from that.

Hello Experts,

I can see the graphical data from the performance data which we are getting. Is is possible to get the same data in tabular form?
Please help how can we achieve that.

Hi yunushaikh,
perf_csv.png
Here is a screenshot showing how to D/L the data in CSV format, which can then be transformed into your desired tabular output.

What version of XI and OS are you using? Does it work if you go to Nagios XI > Host Detail > {HOST} > Performance Graphs > dropdown?
