Can Nagios Core or XI Report Back to Nagios XI

My management is testing AWS and have set specific guidelines. One of the guidelines provided is monitoring should report to a local monitoring system in the same Zone. Our current Nagios XI server is in our office.

Wanted to find out if it is possible to have either Nagios Core or Nagios XI inside the AWS cloud to report back the monitors, status, and perfdata back to our main Nagios XI server in our office?

If not, then do you have any suggestions?

You should be able to send passive check results from the Nagios Core machine to Nagios XI via NSCA or NRDP.

Hope this helps.

I'm unaware if anyone else has attempted this type of deployment, but in theory, why not install Core or XI within the AWS cloud? Then use Nagios Fusion to provide a centralized view of all of your XI and Core systems:

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into them.

As for using Nagios Fusion, we have it currently running and it doesn't provide near enough trending or reporting abilities our management would like. I know dashlets can be created and customized, but I have not acquired that knowledge yet. I am hoping the next release, do you know when that will be?

We will be completely reworking Fusion, and adding bunch of new functionality to it. Unfortunately, I don't have an ETA on when the "new" Fusion will be released.
