Changing IP address of Log Server

We have been a NagiosXI user for just about a year now. Love it. As a natural progression we purchased Log Server. I have an immediate need to get it up and running for some VPN reporting I need to get going for the new payroll rules that come out in a month. I used the downloadable template to install NLS on our VMware environment. I then changed the IP address to a static address. After doing so the cluster status is now yellow. It doesn't even show logs of it self. I absolutely need this on a static IP address but I've not been able to find a way to fix this problem in the interface nor have I found any documentation on how to change the IP address. The template setup doesn't allow me to either.

Any help is much appreciated. I'd like to get my firewall logging in today.

A cluster status of "Yellow" is fine for a single-instance installation. All this "Yellow" status means is that your system is not currently configured with redundant shards.

In the interest of time, your best option is probably to create a clean minimal CENT/RHEL VM, configure it's network settings first, then do a manual install following these instructions:

I was afraid you were going to say that....

I'll start it now. Is there a reason the initial setup doesn't allow for the IP changes to be be made? Seems like that is a requirement for probably 95% of people.

It's totally acceptable to change IP of the VM created from the OVA right up until clicking this button:

Mostly due to some configurations within elasticsearch/logstash/httpd that happen after clicking that button. There are certainly ways to correct your system, but the time required for me to replicate your system's quirks and compile a list of all the places to make changes would exceed that of a fresh install and you said you had "an immediate need to get it up and running" :)

OK that got me where I needed to go. I was changing it before but I wasn't rebooting first. I did the change and changed the host name and rebooted. Now it seems to be logging correctly.

It sounds like this issue has been resolved. Is it okay if we lock this thread? Thanks for choosing the Nagios forums!
