Bandwidth usage reports

Hello,

We have a situation where we will account each server based on the bandwidth consumed in a month. Is there a way in NNA or Nagios XI where I can generate report for the total bandwidth consumed in a month? I may have to exclude bandwidth consumed by the local network and only measure internet bandwidth for all the public IPs not on our own network. I can then have Nagios XI ent edition to schedule these reports for the first of every month.

Thank you in advance.

In Nagios XI if you configure a network device using the 'Switch / Router' wizard, you can easily generate bandwidth reports on those devices.
The default output is day/week/month/year. However, you will not be able to exclude individual IPs from this report. For that functionality it is best to use Network Analyzer

example Bandwidth Usage Report from XI:

Ok so how would I use network analyzer for this purpose?

You would set up a source (usually a switch or router) so it sends netflow data to Nagios Network Analyzer (NNA). As long as the servers you want to monitor are sending traffic through that switch or router you set up as a source in NNA, then you can run reports/ queries on specific source IPs, destination IPs, ports, etc. Below is the default page for a source I've configured.

*You could also configure Linux or Windows machines to send netflow data to NNA, where these servers would be configured as sources. This way you can query these sources(servers) without having to filter out everything else that's going through the switch or router.

Here is some documentation on NNA:

The report format in NNA differs from XI, so there is a bit of a trade-off between the two. You could always integrate NNA with XI:
