check_disc not reading some disks

Hi
We have a database cluster with 3 servers and loads of storage disks setup, we have a problem that when we fail the cluster over to one of the servers 2 of the disks cannot be read by Nagios and show up as 0 MB availably, fail it back to one of the other servers and it reads fine.
It only happens for 2 of the disks, the rest check out perfectly fine
anyone seen anything like this before?
