Nagios Support Forum

I am running an old version of nagios. I know on how to add users to am email/contact group. How would I create an account for someone to view nagios via webinterface? or when I create a contact they automatically have web access? Curious...Would it be hard to upgrade the current version I have? I am a noob to this monitoring program. This version was free when my environment built it up. So not sure if the latest is or not.

Nagios® Core™ 3.2.3

If you compiled from source, then upgrading to Core 4.2.3 should be straight forward. If you used distribution repos, then getting the latest version will be cumbersome. Here's the document in case you compiled from source: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ading.html

Web access in Core is done through Apache. You should take a look at https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... iauth.html if you are sticking with 3. The new 4 document is https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... iauth.html.
