Re: Sending an sms notification in Nagiosxi
That's going to depend on a lot of things. Can you give us more information on what you are looking to do?yunushaikh wrote: Is it possible to send and test email notification for free for testing purpose?
As for the Email and Text Notifications, general information can be found at https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf
Some carriers provide phone number email addresses, but the gateway is important if those carriers don't. For example, I know from personal experience that FreedomPop, and Google Voice do not do SMS email.
In case we run into issues going forward, can you PM me your Profile? You can download it by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the Download Profile button towards the top. If for whatever reason you *cannot* download the profile, please put the output of Show Profile in the thread (that will at least get us some info).
After you PM the profile, please update this thread. Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.

To enter the mobile number for a user, they can do so when logged in, clicking their username, and then click Notification Methods. From here you will see a tab to enter the phone number.yunushaikh wrote: How to send an email notification from nagiosxi and where do we configure phone number. No, you can use [email protected] as long as the company supports it. If your mobile company doesn't support it, then I would look at a hardware gateway or a cloud SMS provider.Do we need to purchase a sms gateway for sending an sms notification?
