Nagios XI Windows Server issues

I am trying to get some monitoring setup on a SQL server running Windows Server 2012 all my services besides ping are showing up as No data was received from host.
My Nagios XI server is running Red hat linux 6.8 I've tried running check_nt to the remote windows server and get no data was received from host, running check_nrpe returns socket timeout after 10 seconds.
I am able to telnet to my windows machine using port 12489 and I have opened up the firewall to ports 12489 and port 5669 does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

What client have you installed on the windows server?

I wasn't the one who installed this client and my level of Nagios experience isn't very good. I am looking in the C:\Program Files\NSClient++ directory what file would give me the exact version?

In the C:\Program Files\NSClient++ path, right click on nscp.exe and select the "Details" tab:

Inside the C:\Program Files\NSClient++ path should be a configuration file, usually named nsclient.ini but it also may be nsc.ini depending on your version. Can you share the contents of this file?

check_nt will not work correctly if the NSClient server is not enabled. Please all the following directive under the [/modules] section:

NSClientServer = 1
I would also suggest setting a password to be used by check_nt under the [/settings/default] section:

password = somepassword
Be sure to restart the NSClient++ service once you have made these changes.

Just because I'm so new to nagios and don't fully understand it. The check_nt service is the one of the reasons I am seeing the errors that are in the attached image as well as when I run the check_nt command from the nagios server?
also just so I know I have the syntax correctly
nscp.exe settings --activate-module NSCLIENT --add-defaults
is the above right?

Specifically, check_nt is trying to access the NSClient++ server which, based on your previously shared NSClient++ configuration, was not enabled.

I would have to see the generated NSClient++ configuration (nsclient.ini) to verify. We usually modify the configuration files by hand rather than via the command line.
