Httpd keeps running at 100%

Nagios XI Version : 5.2.3
CentOS release 6.5 (Final)


Can someone please advise on the following....

Over the past month or so our system has been very slow and today it came up with the following but recovered...

COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE DATABASE! in red bold print.

It said sever is down and there trying to repair the connection but if this does not work to use this in the CLI as root to attempt to repair the DB with

/urs/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh


I checked the processes running on the Linux box using Top and noticed that the httpd process keeps running up to 100%

24673 apache 20 0 97.7m 62m 5680 R 100.0 0.8 12:04.55 httpd

Can someone please advise on why this could be happening ?

snmptt and mrtg also running high. We have an identical system which is not behaving like this.

The PM will lot accept files over 1mb.

Now perl has started running at 100% and our system is becoming unuseable.

Desperately need this sorted please.

If perl is running at 100% then the general culprit is due to failed SNMP checks, or a failed check that runs with perl. You'll need to clean up your system to bring this down a bit.

Your load is definitely at an unhealthy state, and it does appear to be the perl plugins open. I would guess this is due to the open SNMP connections.

What is the full output of this? ps -eo pcpu,args --sort=-%cpu
