CCM says host being edited

Hello,

It seems one of our engineers decided to start editing a Host file and leave it up (not saved or cancelled) when he left for vacation. Now it seems that Nagios thinks that Host record is still being edited even though I have bounced the box from which the engineer was attached and bounced the Nagios server.

Here is the error it is giving when I go to Apply Configuration:
 Users are currently editing objects in the CCM
•nagiosadmin is editing a host (started at 2017-01-09 16:26:37)
Any ideas on how I can fix this issue?

Since you've already bounced both machines in question, try this:
In the XI UI go to: Core Config Manager > Tools > Write Config Files

Then follow these steps in order:

delete (deletes all flat files)
write (creates new flat files based off of what is in the MySQL db)
verify (runs the nagios verify cmd)

* If verify is good = apply config
* If verify is bad = correct the corresponding errror, then repeat these steps until there are no more errors. If caught in a cycle post the last error mssg here in your next post.

You might also have a corrupt db - it can't hurt to run the db repair script to eliminate this as a possible culprit. Follow the steps outlined here

Well, it looks like Nagios magically healed itself. The error is gone. I didn't need to do anything at all.

Thanks for your input. At least, if it happens again, I've got a starting point!
