Hi Team,
Our production environment of Nagios XI is running at the version
and we would like to upgrade the same to last version. Could you please help us on the better approach we need to follow? Since this is running at older version compared to the new one, we wanted your guidance in doing the upgrade properly without impacting anything. thanks.
Regards,
Ram.

I always suggest a manual upgrade:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... nstall.pdf
The instructions say this, but make sure you perform a backup first.
Do you have any specific questions about the upgrade process? Do you have an off-loaded DB, ramdisk, or offline install that would complicate the upgrade?

I am worried upgrading this from older version to latest one. Do I need to upgrade this to one step lower to the current version? Any insights on this please.

Nope - the steps listed on the page are exactly what needs to be done. The previous changes you're thinking of are pre XI2014 due to the postgres database.
