NagiosXI source address in cluster

Hi all,
We have NagiosXI 5.3.2 in a cluster config using pacemaker and drbd, active/passive. Node1=IP1, Node2=IP2.
We have a virtual IP (virtIP) moving with the rest of the resources.
NagiosXI is, in this case, active only on one of these two nodes (the one with the virtual IP).
My question is:
At the firewall point of vue, all the check requests are coming from the active node IP (IP1 or IP2).
Is there a way to setup Nagios in order to have the checks coming from the virtIP instead of the node's IPs (AFAIK we cannot "bind" nagios / nagiosXI on a specific ip) ?

Many thanks in advance.
Francois

While it may work, Nagios support does not support HA configurations. However plugins are going to use the OS's natural path eg its default gateway. You can investigate this and things like Source Routing.

Hi avandemore.
Thx for the answer. I know that Nagios does not support HA solution (they should in my opinion, a lot of companies want that. HA providers claim they do not support Nagios ... :? ), but as you understand it has somehow nothing to do with the HA solution. The problem comes from the fact that we cannot "bind" Nagios on a specific ip address.
I wanted to know if some people had to face this kind of problem. I'll investigate source routing ...
Thx again

It's slightly more complicated than us not supporting HA: https://www.nagios.com/news/2015/10/pre ... nagios-xi/

That said, if you are looking for community input, I would suggest posting in the General Forum rather than Customer Forum. That's not to say @gormank, SteveB, Willhem, and other customers won't post in the Custom Forum, but certainly there are more eyes on the general forum.
