Disabling Active checks of host/hostgroup from command line

Hi,
Can you please help me in getting, How can i disable/enable active checks for all services in host/hostgroup but not from UI
I want to perform above task using command line through script.
Nagiosxi version :5.4.0

one more question please , in above links we have to enable and disable.Is there any command to check whether its disabled or enabled ( notification/active checks ) at this point of time.

Check the /usr/local/nagios/var/status.dat file which should have some sort of variables corresponding.
