We have a monthly server maintenance windows and I am wondering if there is a way I am overlooking to add multiple hostgroups to a single recurring downtime entry? Or do I have to assign each hostgroup a separate downtime even though they will be for the same date and time?

I just looked into this and you are correct - there is not a way to add multiple hostgroups to a single recurring downtime entry. I've filed a feature request that this option be added to the Recurring Scheduled Downtime settings page however I have no idea when (or if) it will be implemented. In the meantime you'll have to schedule one host group at a time.

Can you make a hostgroup - and add the other host groups to it - then schedule it?

Yes, you certainly could do that.

Thanks!
I guess in the meantime I'll create a hostgroup and add my other hostgroups to it that I want to schedule. You can close this post. If I encounter any issues with the hostgroup in hostgroup recurring downtime I'll open a new thread.
