Nagios XI Migration Planning

Hi,
As the title says I'm planning out migration from Core to XI. I'm just looking at the config import tool and from what I can gather, you point it to your config files and its splits out service definitions to seprate config files. Other types of objects such as hosts are written to file named the same as the source config file.
We have each host in its own .cfg file, around 400 of them. Will I need to run the import tool against each host.cfg file? No problem if not as I'm sure its can be scripted to run against each file.
Thanks,
