Hi,

i would like to know is it possible to diagnosed root cause of any problem in nagiosxi.
e.g. if i have configured cisco switch under nagiosxi for monitoring purpose in my network. if that switch goes down all the servers attached to that switch will be out of network in that case can i find out the root cause, that is nothing wrong with the servers but switch has failed or shutdown.
how to do that.

The best solution for the issue you're describing is by setting up host and service dependencies. These can be setup and managed through the Core Config Manager->Advanced->Host/Service Dependencies. This could make it so that every server under the switch has a suppressed notification if the switch is detected as down. Here's the full documentation on it.
