One parent host

Hello,

we have multiple host groups based on the locations of hosts. Every location is connected via VPN tunnel. I have VPN checks (every VPN is configured as a host on NagiosXI), and I want them to be parent for the all hosts in the specific location.
Can I somehow specify that VPN1 host is parent to LOCATION1 host group? Any new host added to the LOCATION1 should have VPN1 as its parent host.

Any suggestions on how to do that? Can hosts dependencies be used for this use-case?

We are using NagiosXI 5.4.2.

Hi ibnetworking,

Your best bet would be to create a host template for LOCATION1 that has VPN1 as a parent. Hosts would then be configured to use that template and receive VPN1 as their parent.
