WebGUI shows error for Monitoring Engine

I have a new clean install of NagiosXI on CentOS6.8 64-bit, and on first logging in I see the following errors reported.
Manual install using latest tar v5.4.3. Modified to enable SSL, separate lv for /usr/local/nagios and /usr/local/nagiosxi.
Monitoring Engine | Status | red exclamation
Performance Grapher | Status | red exclamation
Database Backend | Status | red exclamation
When I mouse over the hover-text says those services are not running, but when I do he following it shows them as running:
So I'm now confused, any ideas? Also under Monitoring Engine Status, every thing is showing green and ok, so confused further.
We did have paid for phone and online support but our Purchasing Dept. forgot to renew in Feb of this year, they are aware and are trying to resolve that, but in the mean time any help appreciated.

nagios (pid 1776) is running...
[root@nagiosxi ~]# service mysqld status
mysqld (pid 1513) is running...
