It's possible a ticket would be lead to a quicker response. If you'd like to go that route, please email
[email protected]. If you do submit a ticket, please post in this thread so that I can lock the thread. I split this from the PDF issue, so if you decide to submit a ticket about the alerts, we can use the other thread for the PDF issue.
You mention notifications and for clarity are notifications the only thing not working, or are alerts (the WebUI) also not working?
What's the output of
ll /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log? The nagios user should be the owner. If the nagios.log file is not in that location, then what is the output of
find / -name nagios.log?
If you don't have that log file at all, you can either restore from a backup or create the log file. The thing about creating it new is anything in their previous will be "lost." The restore loses anything since the last backup.
If you have that log file, but in a different location, you'll need to make sure the nagios.cfg is pointing to the appropriate log.
Any
yum updates recently? If so, can you send your yum.log (probably /var/log/yum.log)?
Can you PM me your Profile? You can download it by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the Download Profile button towards the top. If for whatever reason you *cannot* download the profile, please put the output of View System Info (5.3.4+, Show Profile if older) in the thread (that will at least get us some info). This will give us access to many of the logs we would otherwise ask for individually. If security is a concern, you can unzip the profile take out what you like, and then zip it up again. We may end up needing something you remove, but we can ask for that specifically.
After you PM the profile, please update this thread. Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.
