Neverending Apply Configuration

I used the bulk renaming tool to change several hosts names from uppercase to lower case without applying the configuration until I had fixed all 3 entries. I then attempted to apply the configuration and it never completes.
I do eventually get
An error occurred while attempting to apply your configuration to Nagios Core. Monitoring engine configuration files have been rolled back to their last known good checkpoint.
Error: Service description, host name, or check command is NULL
Error: Could not register service (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/services/UCMCOPPH-1-2.cfg', starting on line 16)
I am unable to find a service for UCMCOPPH-1-2 however.
I do see a server but no services. Any ideas?

What is the version of Nagios XI that you are currently using?
Do you see any config errors if you go to CCM > Tools > Config File Management, and click on the following buttons (in exact same order): Delete Files, Write Configs, Verify Files?

There is no file called UCMCOPPH-1-2.cfg

Checking the config file management verify files I get:
Error: Could not find any host matching 'OBIXSQLDR01DAR' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg', starting on line 865)
Error: Could not expand members specified in hostgroup (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg', starting on line 865)
Error: Service 'CLSV34533' on host 'Uptime' has an escalation but is not defined anywhere!
Error: Could not register service escalation (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/serviceescalations.cfg', starting on line 639)
A co-worker told me that they had used the bulk rename tool for obixsqldr01dar. I checked the configuration file /usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg and sure enough this old name is still part of this group.
I have deactivated service escalations on CLSV34533 bu still these errors come up.

From XI > Configure > CCM > Configuration Snapshots
Please attach the most recent Config Error snapshot as well as the text from the View Command Output link in the same row.

I received your information. There is some strange output in the address field for that host. Is there some encoding issues in involved? Can you input just a plain IP address there?

I created another host object and that seems to have fixed the issue. I am not sure why there is an encoding issue.

Thanks for using Nagios! If you have further issues, please open a new thread or ticket.
