All services CRITICAL - Socket ...

Hellou,

I'm in charge of setting up a monitoring system, and as I'm playing around with Nagios I've encountered a problem when it comes to monitoring windows servers/desktops.

The only services that seem to work are ... pings.

I'm using Nagios XI at the moment.

What I've tried:
- installed different versions of the agent (with tutorials and everything)
- tested services with other wizards - they did not seem to cry around (yeah, I'm the one who's crying, sure)
- different parameters in the commands here and there

I actually don't need to observe components like CPU, RAM etc. I only need to check a few services that are supposed to run continuously.

I hope I've provided all needed information.

In hope that this is not a duplicate or too obvious.

Which Agent are you installing on the Windows system and what versions did you install?
What Agent are you running on the Nagios server?
Can you post one on the commands from the XI server that is generating the Socket error?

If you are running the Windows Server Wizard and the NSClient++ agent, take a look at this document for installation instructions.
Try going through it again and see if this helps out in your issue.

You can download the 64 bit version of NSClient++ from this link.

Sir, I am in your debt.

1) I set up a new vm (twice)
2) installed the NCPA on my computer following the complete documentation
3) set up the monitoring via the NCPA wizard
4) watched all services happily pop up green after pending

Thank you so much!

I am glad your issue has been resolved! Is it OK if we lock this thread?
