I am trying to get notifications to work on AWS running nagios-4.3.2, nagios-plugins-2.1.2, nrpe-3.1.0

I want to use AWS SES

the server is up and works fine, I'm just having issues with the notifications.
Has anyone successfully set this up?

Is the server setup to use the sendmail daemon or the postfix daemon for sending emails?
Without registering the server in DNS, etc.. most email server will reject receiving emails from your server, do you have access to a SMTP Relay server you can use to forward emails to?
