Email Notifications not being received

Hi,

One of our NagiosXI servers suddenly stopped sending email alerts.
When we try to send the test emails from Manage Email Settings > Send a Test Email, it works.
It also works fine when we test via Account > Notification Options > Send Test Notifications.

We have another server which is working fine and both were set to use sendmail in the general mail settings.

/usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log also shows the service notification, and same can be seen from Incident Management > Notifications

Any suggestions on what to look for why the email alerts suddenly stopped getting sent?
Service and Host notifications are enabled with the correct timeperiod.

I saw a bug posted in the knowledgebase for notifications not being sent in XI 5.3.0 but our current version is 5.2.3 so its not applicable.

ok i got this working by changing the host and service notification commands to notify host/service by email.
not sure why this is the case because as per the documentation when contacts are associated with a user(contact created when user was created) we should use
the xi host/service notification handler.

that is the setup we have on our other server. weird that we have to change these settings on server in question.
