Does Fusion 4 provide the Host Group Status summary? If not, is there a predicted date for this release?

Fusion 4 provides the host group status summary, yes. This is a dashlet available for inclusion on the dashboards.
Fusion 4 will be available very shortly. Stay tuned to our official channel for release dates (it's sooo clooose).

will it allow the spanning of of the same host group across multiple Nagios servers?

You will be able to add the "Hostgroup Summary" dashlet to a dashboard for the same hostgroup on different servers, but it is going to be "one at a time". All you need to do is select the server from the drop-down menu.
