Migration to NagiosXI - Email Problem

Hi,

I'm just in the process of moving from Core to XI. I can successfully import all my config files but shortly after applying the config I start getting hundreds of CRITICAL email notifications. I would expect to get alerts as the agents are not configured on the monitored servers yet. But I don't have email configured in Nagios XI so I'm not sure how all these emails are coming out. I wouldn't mind for now if was just me, but all other teams are getting flooded and as you can imagine... they're not happy!

Any idea's anyone?

Thanks,

I would recommend turning off notifications globally until you sort this out. Go to Home > Monitoring Process > Process Info, then click on the "Disable" action button next to the "Notifications".

If you have contacts added to host and services, valid notification handlers (commands), and notifications enabled globally, nagios will send notifications. In Nagios XI, there are "contacts only" and "xi users", which can be linked together. "XI users" can modify their notification options, but "contacts only" cannot. Read more about users and contacts in XI here: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ntacts.pdf.
