Is there any site (e.g. http://nagios.com/XXXX) where I can obtain latest released nagiosxi version number, or some easy way to accomplish that?
The purpose is to send a warning when installed version differs from last released version

Here is a link for previous XI versions including the recent release of (5.4.8). --> I'm sure this is updated when a new release occurs.

In case you are wondering what is done with every new release here are the change logs.
