Hi,

We have XI configured to send events to external application through SNMP (using SNMP trap sender component). Most of the traps are sent, but somehow XI is not sending traps for few hosts (specifically for 2 hosts, known so far).

I can see the events in nagios.log file, but they are nowhere to be seen in the eventman.log file.

Any ideas what could be happening?

XI version: 5.2.3
Mostly Passive Monitoring using NRDS

First thing to do is to make sure you are running the latest SNMP Trap Sender component.
Go to the Admin > Manage Components menu, Check for Updates and update that component and see if those hosts statuses get sent with the SNMP Traps Sender component.
Were those hosts in downtime and the component set to not send traps when the host was in scheduled downtime? That could be the reason the trap was not sent.

If after doing the above still fails, can you post or PM your system profile so we can check the settings for those 2 hosts?
To get your system profile. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and either post it for the forums or PM it to me.

Also, we would have to know the names of the hosts that are not sending.

Sorry, i was out.

Somehow the issue got resolved. We have completely removed the 2 hosts from XI and then imported them from unconfigured objects. That seems to have fixed the issue.
