VMWare Wizard login error

Hello,
I was trying to use the VMWizard [Nagios 5.4.8] to connect to our VCENTER 6.0 server. At the second gui screen I get... Error: Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password. If I do the wizard for an individual VMWare host it DOES work using the root credentials for that host. However, as a sidenote the ESX3 CRITICAL - HOST-VM IO Unknown error is always unknown.
Our Vcenter server (windows) is on our AD domain. However I my login credentials don't work and report the above error. What credentials is it looking for?
I followed the following article to be able to monitor our VMWare Vcenter:

Can you post or PM a screenshot of how this check is set up in the CCM? I want to see the argument, specifically.
Also, can you send me your Profile? You can download it by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the ***Download Profile*** button in the top right corner. *If* for whatever reason you cannot download the profile, please put the output of View System Info (5.3.4+, Show Profile if older). This will give us access to many of the logs we would otherwise ask for individually. If security is a concern, you can unzip the profile take out what you like, and then zip it up again. We may end up needing something you remove, but we can ask for that specifically.
If zip files are not allowed, or the attachment is too large, feel free to use
http://otrs.nagios.com/upload.php but please make sure you fill in the ticket# appropriately. If you do not see the ticket # in your subject, I will be happy to give it to you.

1) I'll need the ticket number.
2) I don't understand your first question. I am using the wizard and I put in the vcenter server name, then I enter my credentials domain\userid and my password (this is the same userid that I normally log into Vcenter) What command are you looking for?
3) I can upload the profile but is it visible only to Nagios staff and not the forum?

1. Apologies. That was my ticket clip-in rather than the forum clip-in. You could email us at
[email protected] to generate a ticket, or you can just PM the profile.
2. The wizards create entries in the CCM, but it sounds like you are not getting that far. Can you PM or attach a screenshot of the actual error you are getting to confirm where exactly this is happening?
3. If you PM it it will only be available to Nagios staff. If you attach it to the post itself, it will be available to anyone with access to the customer forums (MVPs, staff, customers...I think that's it)

How do you profile the PM? What does that mean? Sorry just don't understand.
Please give me more direction on what commands and where to find them.

The screenshot would be the most helpful, so if you could send that without worrying about the profile, we can go ahead and work toward a solution. It sounds like you may have some escaping issues, which is why I want to see it. I suppose more directly, do you have any special characters in your password?
There's a PM button on the right under location. Then, attach the zip for the profile creates.
You can download the profile by going to your XI Web Interface and at the top going to Admin then System Config (left hand panel) and then System Profile (also left hand panel. Then click the ***Download Profile*** button towards the top. If you do not download a zip file, you clicked on the wrong button.
After you PM the profile, please update this thread. Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.

I've attached the screenshot. If I upload the profile will only Nagios be able to see the file? If yes, then I will upload the profile as requested.

What's the output of the following from the Nagios command line? perl /usr/lib/vmware-vcli/apps/host/hostinfo.pl --server <esx IP>. It seems like you probably need to give your account the same access as root, but with read-only access.
As for the VM IO being unknown, as far as we are aware, this no longer works in 6.0. The feature appears to have been removed and VMWare has given no documentation as to if there is a replacement.

It might make sense at this point to email
[email protected], but that's totally up to you. If you do that, please reference this thread.
When you set up the credentials in the VMWare UI, try an @ instead of a \. Also, try two \\.
What happens if you use the FQDN on the command line instead of the IP? What happens if you use the IP in the UI?
