Empty check_period ? is it possible?

I'm trying to set a service with check_period value inherited from a template; using the "generic service" one, which has the 24x7 check period, I thought if service check_period is blank, it will take the value from the template, or maybe from the parent host; but going this way, CCM update fails with the "invalid blank check_period" or something similar; how can I set the check_period using some template?
Thanks in advance

What version of Nagios XI are you running? You should be able to set to set it in the template and it will be applied.

Are you getting the error saving, or when you apply the configuration?

5.4.8 version
I am able to set it in the template, but when applying ccm's configuration, I get the "red message" ( ... reverting configuration ... ) and, when clicking the "Errors" button, it shows "check_period cannot be blank" or similar. But the template does have a value.

Are you 100% sure your template is applied to the service you are creating?
