G 'Day Fellow Nagios XI Administrators,

Has anyone worked with changing the RRDPATH so you can customize where perfdata get placed on the system? Or is there a known process defined by Nagios XI support to modify the perfdata file locations. I assume modifying the RRDPATH value in the /usr/local/nagios/libexec/process_perfdata.pl is only viable for the data being populated to the directory but not part of how Nagios XI displays the graphs from the Web UI.

Any comments/suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Will a symlink work for your purposes? That is likely the easiest.

Well I am not sure. I am trying to build an automated fail-over between data centers and wanted to keep perfdata rsync'd between systems but only whenever the local system is primary then rsync its perfdata to the remote system. So I guess I could just use the default system path...not sure yet still trying to work out all the details in my mind. I guess I need to sit down for a couple hours and really sketch this details in a work flow. Was just wondering if there was an Nagios internal process to specify the perfdata location with symbolic links...

I do not have a budget to utilize a commercial solution so I am attempting to development one myself. This is where I wish there developed examples on this forum I could use to jump start my effort. I know once I get something working myself I will truly share it with all.

I'm not sure what you mean by a commercial high availability setup, but if you are using VMWare, there are some options. If you haven't already, you should take a look at https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf
