Hi there,
I just did my first time try on Nagios XI. I am able to add multiple hosts and explore/edit most options. However, the most important feature Notifications doesn't work in my installation.
What I have now:
1. in Admin-->Manage Email Settings, I can receive test emails.
2. In Configure Host--> Notifications, I set send a notification immediately and send to myself.
3. In My account --> Notification Preferences, I set Enable notifications and checked both email and sms notification. and checked most of alerts. I can receive test notifications.
4. In System Settings--> Send Notification, it was set checked by default. I didn't touch it.
So which part I missed? It's a brand-new installation. How do I know the system tried to send notice or not. I do see multiple Host offline in Latest alerts. but I never receive a single notifications.
It seems to me complicated on this part when it doesn't work.

I checked phpmailer.log. there is only log for my test email. nothing else.
Here is the log in notifications.

@z.yong Hi Z.Yong, Did you enable "Recieve alerts via email" in In My account --> Notification Methods? Also, can you make sure that your contact has the right email in Configure > Core Config Manager > Alerting > Contacts?
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

You should also check your which contact template you are using.
Located in the Configure --> Core Config Manager --> under alerting tab --> Contacts --> Common Settings --> Manage Contact Templates --> tell us which template, either (xi_contact_generic OR generic-contact)
In that same location go to --> Alerting settings --> Manage Host Notification Commands and Manage Service Notification Commands--> tell us which one you have in there if any.
