I have define IPv6 on one the server(as attached) although the server was powered off(down) but Nagios XI check_ping shows up. Is there any disconnect in Nagios? I'm trying to understand here.
Thanks,
Ravi

First thing I would do is Click "Force an immediate check" then if it still shows ok, but changes I would try pinging that Address shown on the page on the command line.

I did s off you said:
Click "Force an immediate check" then if it still shows ok
It is pinging:
[root@nagiosxi var]# ping6 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d
PING 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d(2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d) 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d: icmp_seq=1 ttl=60 time=50.9 ms
64 bytes from 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d: icmp_seq=2 ttl=60 time=50.8 ms
64 bytes from 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d: icmp_seq=3 ttl=60 time=50.8 ms
64 bytes from 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d: icmp_seq=4 ttl=60 time=50.8 ms
64 bytes from 2001:4888:a01

a1:ff0:0:d: icmp_seq=5 ttl=60 time=50.8 ms

Then this IP is still active, either you shutoff the incorrect machine or this IP is assigned to a different piece of equipment.
Nagios is reporting correct, it is tasked with pinging the IP and it is getting a response.

Can we prove this, because the server was defined with the same IP address in the Nagios. Verified each sever defined with the same IP subnet.

No disrespect but the fact that you can ping the IP and get a response is proof.
What I cannot prove is that this IP is assigned to the server you think is off, a machine with this IP IS responding to the ping
